    A North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) needs 3,000 total, 2,000 direct and 100 supervision (≥75 individual) before applying for the LCMHC license. The accrual period is no minimum duration in rule.

    • •3,000 hours of supervised professional practice, ≥2,000 direct counseling
    • •Supervision hours do not count toward the 3,000 practice hours
    • •100 supervision hours, at least 75 individual or triadic
    • •Group supervision is uncapped, but sessions are limited to 12 participants
    • •One supervision hour required per 40 hours of practice
    • •No more than 40 practice hours countable in any week
    • •Supervisor documentation required each quarter with practice hours
