Ohio LPC hours requirement
An Ohio Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) needs 3,000 total, 1,500 direct and 150 supervision before applying for the LPCC license. The accrual period is 24 months minimum, per ORC 4757.22 · OAC 4757-13-03.

- •Max 1,500 work hrs claimable per 12-month period
- •At least 50% (1,500 hrs) must be face-to-face clinical counseling, including diagnosis and treatment (OAC 4757-13-03(A)(4)(a))
- •Supervisor evaluation required at the 1,500-hour midpoint (OAC 4757-13-03(B)(3))
- •1 supervision hr per 20 work hrs (OAC 4757-17-01); board guidance puts that at ~150 hrs, by an LPCC-S
- •As of 1/1/2026: NCMHCE no longer required for LPCC upgrade
